As we head into the holiday season, we want to take some time to talk about a problem that affects many families, both Christian and non-Christian – the topic of domestic abuse and violence. Did you know that domestic violence incidents spike over the next few months, especially on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Super Bowl Sunday? There are many types of abuse – physical, verbal, financial are just a few – and men and women both suffer as the victim and can also be the abuser. Staff from End Violent Encounters (EVE) will be our guests, and we will discuss the different types of abuse, learn how to recognize signs of abuse, and discuss practical solutions for helping ourselves and our brothers and sisters who are affected by this problem.
