This week we learn that God’s desire for us is not to be religious, but to have a heart relationship with Him. Jesus shows the worthlessness of a fig tree that looks beautiful from a distance, but bears no fruit! Then Jesus is repulsed by the religious activity surrounding the Temple without prayer. Trusting, honest and transparent prayer is what moves the heart and hand of God.
