Tasha says she is a Trinity attender
Been with Trinity for 15 years
Been at Hidden Tree apartments for five years
Had a surgery in October and about that time, her ex stopped paying weekly child support. He doesn't see his son?
getting security degree. dance instructor, starting a dance school
Son is a gymnast. Going for Olypmics. $200/mo for coaching lessons.
Pays $100/mo for hair/salon.
Tried getting DHHS rental assistance but that was dropped due to "negligence on part of the apt" (Turns out this was probably a DHHS decision.)
Asked for $4500 but owes her apartment complex, Hidden Tree, $7342.50. This will go up by in a few days by $1054.48 when February rent is due. In October, Hidden Tree took her to court for the first time. At that time, they waived the judgment since Tasha promised to pay. She never did. The second court action for nonpayment (judgment) occurred last Wednesday. The writ will served 10 days following (formal eviction, physical removal.) Tasha says she can make up the difference but she won't share how much she has in savings.
Called Hidden Tree (517-580-0076, option 2 "for residents") and spoke with Penny LaLonde (property mgr) who said their managment co took over in 2021. Tasha was already behind in rent by $600 at that time. Turns out Tasha has had a history of nonpayment with them. Tasha says her utilities are all separate and are not included in her rent, but the rental ledger says gas, water and trash are all included in her rent which is $1054/mo. The rental ledger shows Tasha has a history of getting rental assistance over and over and regularly does not pay her rent or makes payments just prior to legal reprimand (as in September 2022).
Penny says the payment would need to be paid in full (no partial payments will suffice.) Once the judgment hits Tasha's record, "She won't be able rent anywhere else in Lansing without paying the debt. If she buys a house, she'll also have to pay it in full." They will not rent to her either and will not be renewing her lease once the formally move away from month-to-month leases (which are about $200/mo more than annual leases.)
Penny mentioned many agencies get bank statements or pay stubs to prove financial stability. Verified with Fred Chasney this would be an acceptable request and he confirmed we could. Texted the ask. Tasha declined. Pete and I called her tonight at 8pm to explain her rental performance and that we would not be proceeding to help her at this time. She thanked us and that was the end of the conversation.

After having her account drawn down by a wayward roommate (who has since been evicted), Trinity attender Jennifer Thayer found her accounts $1400 in the negative. This created a financial event that she is asking for our help to escape.
Pete and I interviewed her this morning and recommend helping her pay her lot rent, Consumer's bill and State Farm insurance bill. This will bring her current with her January bills and should position her for success in February. She will also be attending the Financial Peace University class at Trinity.
Her lot rent owed to Oak Island trailer park was for a total of $751.25 ($758.76 after fees). Since she had already received an eviction notice, I called the park office to notify them of our intent to pay. The manager said using their online portal would be the best way to avoid them moving on court action, which was scheduled for Tuesday next week. The other way would be to have Trinity send a "check is in the mail" letter, on letterhead, to the park office, detailing the check number, amount and when it would be sent to the park. Considering the time involved in the latter method, I have paid her lot bill via the portal.
Please reimburse me the $758.76. (Matthew Schoenherr, 3824 Sandlewood Dr, Okemos, MI 48864)
Please also process the following payments:
Consumer's Energy, $240, account: 1000 8710 2115
State Farm, $98.49, account: 976 3635-A15-22 . Payment address (if needed): State Farm, 2345 Ivanrest Ave SW, Grandville, MI 49418.
Thank you!
M

Pete and I called Ebony today, 1/13/2023, to notify Eboni we would not be moving forward on helping her at this time. Her rent is not $1135/mo as she reported ($770, actually) and she is only $150.96 in arrears. Between this and her new job with McClaren which almost doubles her income ($10 to now $17+), she should be able to manage her bills moving forward. She has not attended Trinity in at least a year and has no giving history, in contrast to the $400/mo she reported as her monthly tithe.
